The Juneteenth Initiative was a huge success, thanks to the support of our amazing sponsors, including Forum Philly Honors Program, Aqua Essentials of Penna, the Philadelphia Foundation, the Northeast Baptist Church CDC, Seer Interactive, and Penn Museum. The program provided $500 grants to each participating school, resulting in over 30 incredible student art pieces. The event was a collaborative effort with the School District of Philadelphia, serving 170,000 students. The program featured a drummers procession lead by Karen Smith Drummers, a violin rendition of 'Lift Every Voice and Sing',by master Violinist Dr. Jack Drummond, a storytelling troupe by “Black Boys Makin ‘Noise. Keynote Speaker: Rep. Dr. Jordan A. Harris, Majority Appropriations Committee Chair, PA House District 186.
